We were given the opportunity to travel to Romania and set our version of The Physicists on one of their National Companies. Working in Hungarian was a challenge, but we were fortunate to have actors and assistants who were fluent in English and helped us navigate the process.

Cherry Smoke is the story of four people caught in a rust belt town long after the industry has left. A pair of brothers and the women they love attempt to scratch a life out in a town with no hope, and no prospects. Flashing forward and backward fluidly in time through the narrative we follow Fish, an amateur boxer as he tries taking a shot at the big time in a desperate attempt to leave his past behind, and bring the people he loves with him.

Nightlands- New Georges

Don’t tell the future. Don’t do it, baby. Nightlands combines Philadelphia history with family myth to tell the story of two women whose relationship ignites an entire city. Commissioned by New Georges through a Full Stage NYC grant administered by New Dramatists. Premiered October 2011 at HERE Arts Center in New York directed by Tamilla Woodard produced by New Georges.

 

The Diary of a Teenage Girl

Directed by Rachel Eckerling and Sara Cameron Sunde

This live adaptation of the cult classic graphic novel of the same name is now a feature film, directed by Marielle Heller who adapted and starred in the stage play.

With the help of his long suffering French housekeeper and his hapless friend from The States, can he manage to keep the three women apart and get through the weekend?
